Blog/Lesson Eight Who Is Jesus? Part one of several continues lessons
Who Is Jesus? He is our risen Lord; born to a virgin; God"s Word (Spirit) came down in the body of a human baby boy to be our Messiah and bring us back to God for eternity!
Blog/Lesson Eight / Who Is Jesus? /Part One
This is one of the most important lessons in this series on “Salvation”. If you get this revelation in your mind and heart by the Holy Spirit, you will never forsake Jesus Christ for a pagan god. There are Truths in this lesson that is discussed by Theologians in Bible College; and many students have graduated not even realizing some of these most important truths. By Satan’s deception, he tries to confuse the message of Christ’s Salvation; the GOOD NEWS of the GOSPEL.
Volumes of books have been written about Jesus Christ; so it would be impossible to even touch the surface of this great subject in only one blog. I will try to be as specific and keep it as simple as I can, yet giving you a clear picture of who Jesus is and how He is both man and God. We will continue this topic for several blog lessons.
As we have stated before, Jesus was a three part person; He was totally God (Deity) in His 1) Spirit, but totally man in His 2) soul (mind, will, and emotions), housed in a human 3) body. He was called the Son of God (as in his Deity) and called the Son of man (as in his humanity; in which he was tempted because God Deity cannot be tempted). Jesus also spoke as: the Son of God and spoke as the Son of man.
Most importantly, Jesus is the only Savior; and is the only door to Heaven.
Joh 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (John 14:6)
Jesus was and is God; the Messiah sent down from God in Heaven. He told his disciples, “If you have seen me you have seen the Father, I have come that you know the Father.” Jesus came with Truth about God.
Joh 1:17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
Joh 1:18 No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him. (John 1:17-18)
Phillip had said, “Lord, show us the Father:”
Joh 14:9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?
Joh 14:10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
Joh 14:11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake. (John 14:9-11)
It is my opinion that some teachers of Modern Theology have gotten away from our doctrine of One God; by pulling the Trinity God too far apart making God three persons with three different personalities. This has caused confusion and doubt from our friends of other religions; as whether Jesus was truly the Son of God or just a great prophet, thus hindering their acceptance of Jesus Christ.
The purpose of this lesson is to show you Scripture that helps you understand God and know that Jesus without a doubt was and is God. (Viewing the chart #6) on the next page will help to clarify.
The word God in most all Scripture means Deity in its original Greek word:
Strong’s Concordance: God = Greek #2316 theos, a deity espec. the supreme Divinity, magistrate;
Actually God is One Deity; we serve One God, One Lord who represents Himself in three different ways: In the beginning, there was God forever eternally backward who had no beginning. His Word was His covenant between Him and His angels; which was His Law of Free Will and Sowing and Reaping. Sowing and Reaping what? LOVE, God is Love, He sowed Love and His angels reaped it and sowed it back to God in worship. Heaven knew no sin or rebellion, until Lucifer transgressed against God.
Deity in Heaven-God the Father
Deity in the Covenant (Law of Free Will and Sowing and Reaping)- God the Son:
(Later came to earth as the Spirit of Jesus Christ, Deity in the SON)
Deity in Adam and Eve-God the Holy Spirit
(When Adam and Eve sinned they pushed God’s Spirit out of their spirit; the first time God’s spirit was joined back to man’s spirit was on the Day of Pentecost, after that, Deity joined back to the heart of all who will receive Christ)
Sin is not a created substance; “Sin is an act of rebellion based on free will.” God’s word and covenant cannot change; so when Lucifer sinned he created the Law of Sin and Death causing him to reap his sin. Even though this Law came out from God’s Law of Free will and Sowing and Reaping, it was God’s intent for His Law to always operate in LOVE and was His Law of the Spirit of Life. God is LOVE, and LOVE thinks no evil! Lucifer was the father of lies, sin and death.
Then Adam and Eve’s sin put the whole world and all creation under this Law of Sin and Death, causing man to have to reap their own sin. Today the demonic spirits enforce this law of wrath on people, but God gets the blame for it. GOD IS NOT GUILTY of sickness, death and the bad times of our lives. Jesus came and set us free from this Law of Sin and Death, by Calvary:
Rom 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
Rom 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
Rom 8:3 For what the (Mosaic) law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
Rom 8:4 That the righteousness of the law (Of The Spirit and LIFE)and might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. (Romans 8:1-4, Emphases are mine.)
The Apostle Paul talks about three different laws in his letter to the Romans; even though many teachers teach Romans as having only two; they call the Mosaic Law; and the Law of Sin and Death one and the same Law. This is a fable, and has contributed evil to God. The Mosaic Law was God’s Law of LOVE to His children to teach them about and protect them from the wrath (having to reap their sin) of The Law of Sin and Death, until Jesus could come for our once and for all protection!
In most of Romans the interpreter did not print out the full name of each Law, I guess it would have gotten too repetitive. But when you understand the difference in these three laws, it makes Romans much easier to understand. (This subject is only touched on very lightly here in this blog, but a complete study is included in my upcoming first book of a series on the Truth about God, and you can also hear teaching on this subject from Keith Porter/ Divine Partnership and In the Beginning; on You Tube.)
The same WORD that spoke the whole universe and the first man and woman into existence; He, Jesus that same Word came to hang on the cross and die for our sins and to take those strips on His human back until the skin fell off; to fix, recreate and heal what He had first made perfect. Who could fix something broken better than the creator of it?
I used to create garments and sew for the public; if anything tore, they brought it back to me to fix. Likewise we need to bring our broken hearts and sick bodies back to Jesus to fix. It is the delight of God to give good gifts to His children. And He would not with hold any good thing from us.
Jas 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. (James 1:17-18)
Mat 7:9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?
Mat 7:10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?
Mat 7:11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him? (Matthew 7:9-11)
Jesus was God, is God and will always be God. Jesus said to pray,” My Heavenly Father, “He and the Father are ONE. Now Jesus’ new resurrected body sits at the right side of the throne of Deity which is also in Him. So we still pray, “My Heavenly Father, who is in Jesus Christ ….” And if our prayers line up with the Truth of His Word, Jesus as our intercessor will pray for us and command His angels to minister to us and for us running on errands for the redeemed.
Wow! What an honor and privilege we have to know and communicate with the Creator GOD, Deity who will never leave us nor forsake us!
Part Two of “Who Is Jesus” will be continued in next week’s Blog.
